Individual insurance market companies like the American Cancer Society Action Network, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association,
American Heart Association, & many more have written an open letter to State Departments of Insurance to speak about their concerns
about “the potential impact of the policies put forward in the recent Executive Order on health care”.
Health groups are warning state regulators that the new regulations have flaws that could harm consumers and local markets. They said,
“We urge state insurance regulators to take action to protect consumers in your states”. The Trump Administration has tried several times
to get rid of the Affordable Care act but has failed. They are instead trying to make changes with an executive order. It would allow small
businesses to come together to create “association health plans”.
Trumps administration also wants “short-term, limited duration health plans” that may be cheaper but will cover less and attract healthy,
younger purchasers away from individual health plans with richer benefits.
What is to come is unclear, but Cosmo Insurance Agency is always prepared for the changes. We are here to accommodate everyone’s needs.
