Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey has updated its Small Employer Health Plan portfolio for 2020. These changes will become effective when a small employer customer renews into one of the impacted Horizon BCBSNJ health plans.

 What to expect

Small employer customers that offer a health plan that will be modified for 2020 will receive two Summary of Benefits & Coverage documents – one that mirrors their 2019 health plan effective until the time of their renewal, and one for use on and after their renewal that includes the modifications to the plan effective upon renewal.

A reminder: Finding in-network doctors and hospitals 
Horizon Advantage EPO, Horizon HMO and Horizon POS plans in the Small Employer market now include NJPA in the plan name. For example, Horizon HMO is now named Horizon HMO NJPA. Please remind your clients to use the full plan name as it appears on their member ID card when using the HorizonBlue.com/doctorfinder. Members who use the Horizon Blue app to find in-network doctors and hospitals do not need to take this step as they are automatically connected to the appropriate network search.
