A day after Perdue recalled chicken nuggets because of incorrectly labeled packages, Tyson recalled 36,420 pounds of frozen chicken nuggets after pieces of rubber were found in the product.
The five-pound plastic package of white meat panko chicken nuggets were produced Nov 26, 2018 and have a “best if used by date” of Nov. 26, 2019, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said in a statement Tuesday.
The packages contain lot code 17009010 – 19009010 and have establishment number “P-369” printed inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The FSIS learned of the problem after getting complaints from customers, it said. There haven’t been any reports of anyone getting sick from eating the chicken. Anyone who has the chicken in their freezer should throw it out or bring it back to the store where it was bought.
On Monday, Perdue recalled about 16,000 pounds of chicken nuggets because the packages are mislabeled and the products might contain milk, an allergen. New Jersey is among the states to where the chicken was shipped. About two weeks ago, Perdue recalled more than 68,000 pounds of organic chicken nuggets over fears those items could contain wood.
