Stand Up to Cancer Day

Happy Stand Up to Cancer Day from Cosmo Insurance Agency! Every year celebrated on the second Friday in September, we honor those who have been affected by this disease. About 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Scientists are working to deliver new therapies to cancer patients and create successful treatments.

Today you can join in on the fight against cancer and get involved with nonprofit organizations like Stand Up to Cancer. Their mission statement is:

“Stand Up To Cancer’s (SU2C) mission is to raise funds to accelerate the pace of groundbreaking translational research that can get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives now.

SU2C brings together the best and the brightest researchers and mandates collaboration among the cancer community. By galvanizing the entertainment industry, SU2C has set out to generate awareness, educate the public on cancer prevention and help more people diagnosed with cancer become long-term survivors.”

You can be part of their group by volunteering, donating, or just sharing their message. If you are worried about your own health, Cosmo Insurance Agency is here to support you. We offer both group and individual health insurance that will lift the burden of taking care of the insurance process from your shoulders. And if you are wondering how to detect cancer, cancer is detected by imaging (radiology test), endoscopy procedures, biopsy, and cytology tests.

Imaging (Radiology Test)

Doctors use imaging tests to make pictures (images) of the inside of your body. Imaging tests can be used in many ways, including to look for cancer, to find out how far it has spread, and to help determine if cancer treatment is working.

Endoscopy Procedures

Endoscopy is a medical procedure where a doctor puts a tube-like instrument into the body to look inside.

Biopsy and Cytology test

Waiting to hear a possible cancer diagnosis can be very stressful. But a better understanding of the tests doctors use to diagnose and classify cancer may relieve some of your stress. It can also help you work with your doctors to make the best decisions about your treatment.
