1. Exercise: walk the streets with your kids, grandchildren, neighbor’s kids, or anyone. Also, for more of an in-depth workout, pile the kids into a wagon and pull them. When the kids want to go for the second lap around the block, agree it to it. You’ll burn even more calories, and having at least one child who insists on being carried counts as strength training.
2. Social Interaction Promotes Brain Health: Halloween is a great time to give your brain a gift and interact with new people. According to, Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, their research shows that neighborhoods with a close-knit community can create feelings of goodwill and positive relationships, which reduce stress and anxiety.
3. Practice Self-Control: This is where you have an opportunity to practice all of those healthy habits you’ve learned this year. It’s the time to give that will power muscle a workout and either limit or don’t eat the candy!
