New FSA Limit Updates for 2026 You Shouldn’t Miss

October 16, 2025

The IRS has officially released the 2026 Flexible Spending Account (FSA) limits, and these new figures bring some exciting updates for participants and employers alike. The updated limits will apply to plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2026.

To help you navigate these changes, we’ve included a 2026 FSA Cheat Sheet (available via the “Download Now” button below), along with a quick comparison table of 2025 and 2026 limits.

2026 vs. 2025 FSA Limits

Benefit Type20262025
Health FSA Limit$3,400$3,300
Health FSA Carryover$660$640
Dependent Care Account$7,500$5,000
Transit$340$325
Parking$340$325

What This Means for Employers and Participants

Just like in previous years, OCA will automatically increase the 2026 FSA annual limit for all existing clients who previously adopted the 2025 maximum limit — unless a different request is made.

This ensures your employees continue to enjoy the full benefit of the updated IRS limits without needing to take extra action.

Prepare for a Smooth 2026 Open Enrollment

As we head into another open enrollment season, we encourage employers to:

  • Review your FSA, DCA, and commuter benefit programs to align with the new IRS limits.
  • Communicate updates early to help employees plan their contributions effectively.
  • Leverage OCA’s resources to simplify benefits administration.

We look forward to partnering with you for another successful year!
