FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, M.D., said the following in a statement, “Despite multiple actions against these products in the past, we’ve seen a continued trend of products containing highly concentrated or pure caffeine being marketed directly to consumers as dietary supplements and sold in bulk quantities, with up to thousands of recommended servings per container.”
Too much caffeine can cause severe anxiety and heart issues. Very high doses of caffeine can cause digestive issues, insomnia, muscle breakdown, and possible addiction issues.
There are not many deaths caused by caffeine over dose, but one of the most famous cases was Logan Stiner an 18 year old prom king, in Ohio in 2014. He died by taking too much caffeine powder which resulted in irregular heartbeat and seizures.
Keep your caffeine intake to a minimum. Drink more water if you are feeling sluggish throughout the day.
