New Jersey is among 23 states that raised the minimum wage in 2021.
As of Friday, January 1, most workers living in the Garden State will get a raise from $11 to $12 per hour.
This is part of a gradual increase to $15 per hour under legislation signed by Governor Murphy in February 2019. Each year minimum wage will increase $1 per hour until 2024 when it will finally hit $15 per hour.
