Summer is a time to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful weather. The hot summer days can be accompanied by some health risks. Stay safe this summer by knowing these top health risks:

Heat Stroke
Heat stroke can be a life threatening condition. The symptoms of a heat stroke include: confusion, short, rapid breathing, sweating has stopped, and a rapid pulse. If not treated right away, you can experience permanent damage to your body.
Food Poisoning
According to the CDC, around 76 million people have experienced food poisoning. There are a ton of BBQ’s, picnics, and parties that are outdoors. If the food is not properly handled safely, there can be a higher risk of a food poisoning outbreak.
Eye Damage
Protecting your eyes from the sun is just as important as protecting your skin. Be sure your sunglasses filter out 100 percent of UV light and be sure to wear them, especially around water, which can reflect a tremendous about of light to your eyes.
Drowning
Over 3,000 people drowns in pool-related accidents. More than 650 drown in boating accidents. For each child under 14 that drowns, another five suffer from near drowning. If you are at the beach, make sure you and your loved ones are swimming by a lifeguard. If you are at a pool, make sure an adult is watching young children.
